    Our In-house Productions

Our vision for the period 2015 onwards marks a key moment in the theatre’s evolution and a step change in the level of our ambitions. We recognise that a truly great theatre is all about the consistent production of great shows and to achieve this we are investing ambitiously in more of our own productions and co-productions with key partners. We want to bring world-class directors, actors, and musicians to Tobacco Factory Theatres – the best of the best – and to invest in developing the best new talent.

2013 saw our growing role as a producer with our co-production with Travelling Light: Cinderella: A Fairytale (nominated for an Olivier Award and Winner of an Offie Award). We will be touring the show for the fourth time to mac birmingham over Christmas 2015; with a whole new cast.

In 2014, Dracula which we co-produced with the Mark Bruce Company, transferred to Wilton’s Music Hall, London and won the Sky Arts Award for Dance. This was followed by a 10 week UK tour in 2015 and winning four National Dance Awards. The company were set up to achieve independence as a National Portfolio Organisation in January 2015 and are currently planning their next show for 2016.

2014/15 focused on our new co-production with international award-winning puppet theatre makers Green Ginger and Nordland Visual Theatre: resulting in a world class show Outpost. Green Ginger as a result attended the prestigious World Puppet Theatre Festival in Charleville-Mezieres, France (September 2015) to present the show, ahead of a 6 week UK tour, including a week at Suspense Festival in London.

We’re updating this page at the moment. Soon you will be able to view our full list of in-house productions and co-productions, including information on which are available to book for your venue or are out on tour at the moment.
