Every Friday night Chuckle Busters hosts a selection of top comedians at The Wardrobe Theatre.
Tonight’s show features two Chuckle Busters stalwarts performing their smash hit Edinburgh Fringe shows. You may have seen Phil Cooper or Chris Chopping doing shorter sets but it is in the longer form that their writing and performance quality really shine through so it’s a real treat to have two of our favourite (non-laddy) lads on the bill.
PHIL COOPER: outdoor heated swimming pool
Phil grew up with no money, living in a post-Thatcher mining town in the South Wales valleys. However, by 2017, Pontypridd boasts such luxuries as an outdoor heated swimming pool – funded by the EU. In the face of political uncertainty, Phil’s show explores his own anxieties, his childhood, and the effect of global politics on the future of Wales.
Phil Cooper has been a full-time circuit comedian since 2014, and is a familiar face on the Welsh-language TV channel S4C. This year, he developed an 80-minute solo comedy special for the station, alongside fellow comedians Elis James and Tudur Owen.

chris chopping: premature emasculation
A pithy, witty hour of bold character comedy and hilarious stand up full of petty insecurities, impotent rage and a certain amount of erudite smut.
“A really good comic, tremendously clever in both his delivery and subject matter” Metro
