Every Friday night Chuckle Busters hosts a selection of top comedians in The Wardrobe Theatre (“a perfect room for comedy” – Stuart Goldsmith).

A rotation of our favourite shows from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and famous names trying out new material, plus a selection of budding newer acts handpicked from the vibrant Bristol comedy scene.

Top acts that have performed with us recently include Nish Kumar, Fern Brady, Ed Gamble, Spencer Jones and Mark Steel so you never know who might turn up!

John Lynn has been making waves in his native Ireland for some time, and is now busy building his reputation as a first-class international act. With an easy-going charm and natural stage presence, John is rapidly rising up the comedy ladder, including being invited to join Irish superstar Tommy Tiernan as a special guest at Dublin’s famed Vicar St venue.

Stuart Laws’ boundlessly energetic stand-up involves telling stories that weave material in with improvised audience interaction. Observational and surreal, it’s difficult to tell where the act ends and the improvisation starts. Stuart is also James Acaster’s tour support and regularly writes for The Huffington Post.

“It’s a confident performance of confident material…priceless” Chortle

Annie McGrath has written and appeared on ITV2’s @elevenish, as well as Channel 4 online’s show Girls Go Trolling. Annie has featured on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio 4 Extra and has been shortlisted for the Funny Women award and Dave’s Top Ten Funniest Jokes of the Fringe.

“McGrath’s dry sense of humour together with cool deliveries works a treat… Ridiculously funny” The Edinburgh Reporter

Plus DANNY CLIVES (Finalist – Leicester Square New Comedian Of The Year), TOM CHRISTIAN (“Delightfully tricksy” Chortle) and your MC for the evening ROB KEMP (Finalist – BBC New Comedy Award).
