    Do you already work with young people but need more confidence or specific knowledge to deliver your drama sessions? Are you keen to work with young people and have a drama background but no experience running workshops? Do you already work in the Arts and wish to extend your experience to working with young people?

    Over two days, these carefully curated sessions will equip you with the skills you need to develop a career as a freelance drama facilitator. The course will feature practical sessions and talks from industry professionals – see below for more detail.

    SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER:

    Working with Young People with Special Educational Needs

    Whether you are working with a group that includes young people with Special Educational Needs, or delivering in an SEN school/environment, it’s important to be prepared and feel confident.

    This one-day session will take you through how to plan for your workshop, delivery of the material, and techniques to ensure you get the absolute best out of your participants.

    SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER:

    Approaches to Devising

    Devising in drama demands inventiveness, an understanding of the rules of structuring a piece of theatre, and a readiness to collaborate with others.

    This one-day session will take provide practical approaches to preparing for, structuring and delivering an excellent devising programme for working with children and young people.

    Both days will be a mix of practical activities and discussion so please dress appropriately.
