Chuckle Busters presents top comedians trying out their latest shows before they head to the world’s largest arts festival.
Jon Pointing: Act Natural
In his hotly anticipated debut hour, Jon Pointing plays monstrous acting coach, Cayden Hunter. A comedy character show set in an acting workshop.
“It’s all keenly observed and impeccably performed.” (Chortle) ****
As seen on BBC3’s Pls Like.
Johnny White Really-Really: Pigeons
Pigeons takes the audience, not on a journey, as the performance is seated and in a fixed location, but on an adventure of sorts through time. From the dawning of humanity all the way through to the end of the world via witches, a surprising amount about rivers and letters to Godzilla. The big questions (life, death etc) are handled with a complete lack of regard for stories that have defined endings. Lengthy imaginings about James Nesbitt snuggle up against tall tales about magic mirrors.
There are also some more run-of-the-mill jokes about supermarkets and that kind of carry-on. Something for absolutely everyone, then! See you there!
