PRESENTED AS PART OF BRISTOL FESTIVAL OF PUPPETRY

A panel discussion centered around four unique experts in puppetry and animation: Emma Powell (Puppet Place CPD Facilitator and Puppet Fabricator), Corina Bona (SPC Curator & Puppeteer), Suraya Raja (Animation Director) & Evelyn Ross (Animation Director).

2017 has witnessed an increased recognition of women’s contribution to film and animation. In the live puppetry sector women have often been at the heart of puppetry companies as producers, directors and fabricators.  Reflect with the panel on the changing face of puppetry and animation. What are the challenges facing coming into puppetry and animation? What is there to celebrate and what might the future hold?

The discussion will focus on the challenges of being a new face in the industry and the panel’s expectations of the future of puppetry and animation.
