A Brimful of Asha: A PLAY IN A DAY
Take part in this exciting opportunity to work with the Director of A Brimful of Asha and create a play in a day to be performed in the Factory Theatre.
Working as an ensemble you will devise, direct and create a performance that will be performed to family and friends at the end of the day. This is a fun and physical workshop – expect story making, movement, drama and play! All are welcome, no previous experience necessary.
Book onto our A Play in a Day and you will get 2 free tickets (one child, one adult) to watch A Brimful of Asha that evening!
WHAT TO EXPECT
10.30am – Arrive and register at Tobacco Factory Theatres
1pm – 2pm – Lunch at Tobacco Factory Theatres (not provided)
5.30pm – 6.30pm – Dinner break. Children can stay with us or have dinner with their parents
6.30pm – Warm up. We will have a short warm up in the Factory Theatre
7pm – Perform in the Factory Theatre to family and friends
7.30pm – Stay and enjoy entertainment in the Factory Theatre Bar, hosted as part of our Get Involved activities for A Brimful of Asha
8pm – Watch A Brimful of Asha in the Factory Theatre
The sessions are led by skilled theatre makers with strong backgrounds in creating work with and for young people.
The day will include:
- Fun and energising warm up games
- Voice work
- Acting and ensemble movement
- Rehearsals for performance
WHAT TO BRING
Please ensure your child:
- Arrives in good time
- Wears comfortable clothing and footwear that allows them to move freely
- Brings a packed lunch and snacks
The performance at the end of the A PLAY IN A DAY will be at 7pm in the Factory Theatre and is free of charge to watch.
A BRIMFUL OF ASHA will be performed at 8pm in the Factory Theatre. Tickets need to be booked in advance but there are 2 free tickets (one child, one adult) for each person who books a place for A Play in a Day.
