Prototype nights are for both artists and audiences.
For artists they’re the chance to share new ideas for performance with an engaged and supportive audience.
For audiences it’s an opportunity to discover what’s being made right here, right now and to contribute to an essential stage in the creative process. Join us to see for yourself.
The line-up: Sun 18 November
Florence Espeut-Nickless presents D.E.S.T.I.N.Y
This semi-autobiographical monologue follows the story of a teenage girl growing up on a rural Southwest council estate, born below the breadline, desperate to see beyond the walls of her neighbourhood, and find hope in hopelessness.
Stumble Trip Theatre presents Frills and Spills
Frills and Spills is a seriously silly exploration of sisterhood, obsessive behaviour and society’s treatment of the body. Stumble Trip Theatre employ song, dance, storytelling and transformational costume in a raucous cabaret with a provocative spirit.
Tiny Studio presents Bloodhound
In a post-climate change UK where fertility is strictly controlled, three women navigate the burdens placed upon them by a civilisation teetering on the edge of collapse.
Rina Vergano of Crimson Ink presents Hags Harpies and Harridans
Hags Harpies & Harridans is an exploration of the archetype of the older woman in myths, fairytales and stories, in all her aspects – from wise woman and outspoken ‘harridan’, to guardian of those fragile things on the edge that are in danger of getting lost.
Prototype will have a regular annual slot in our autumn programme and we will publish the call out for applications on our website in advance of each event.
