Wonderful Alien has been devised in response to Up Down Man and is performed by a collaboration of professional performers and students from the autism centre at Kingsweston School, who will take over the theatre on Mon 13 November.
One day an alien landed on earth.
She wasn’t green, she wasn’t scary, she had wings and big ears and she was sent to listen. Who are you, where have you come from? Not my world for sure…
She was sent to meet the discoverers of wonders, the puzzling, the enchanting, the exhausting and frustrated. For these are the people that want to change the world. They have big ideas, don’t you know?
SCHOOLS TAKE OVER
Schools Take Over is a new project for Tobacco Factory Theatres that sees our theatre doors opened to local schools, enabling them to take over our theatre and perform new, brilliant and surprising shows devised by their students and our creative teams. We aim to champion access to the arts for children with special educational needs and disability.
“Together we’ve created a story that stems from the questions we were left with after exploring Up Down Man. We hope the story will allow the performers to explore the depths of their imaginations and take the audience to some far away galaxies within these historic brick walls of our Factory Theatre.” Ailie deBonnaire, Children & Young People Director
is proud to support Tobacco Factory Theatres as it stages its Special Schools Take Over and Wonderful Alien.
