Over five days, we challenge you to create a brand new piece of theatre to be performed in our very own Factory Theatre! Working with professional theatre makers, you will need to bring your ideas, enthusiasm and energy to make sure you’re prepared to perform on the final day!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Working with local director Liz Felton and a creative team, you will rehearse here at the theatre each day for 5 days, starting at 9.30am and running until 4pm. The sessions will be full of games, play and creativity, where you will work as an ensemble to create a new piece of theatre.
Please note, we have multiple practitioners working on each summer school and the performing groups will be divided by age, for example ages 7-9 years and 10-11 years. Young people will spend most of their time working with those of a similar age to them.
The week will include:
- Fun and energising warm up games
- Voice work
- Acting and ensemble movement
- Trust and teambuilding
- Script work
- Rehearsals for performance
WHAT TO BRING
Please ensure your child:
- Arrives in good time
- Wears comfortable clothing and footwear that allows them to move freely
- Brings a packed lunch and snacks (no nuts please!)
Both of our Summer School Theatre Challenge companies will perform in the Factory Theatre on Fri 09 August at 5pm. Tickets for the performances are £3 each and will go on sale during July.
