    About

‘And the next day I went back to the river, and I took off my clothes and I dived in the water, and I looked for the fish, and I couldn’t find it, but when I surfaced, I was holding something. Something else.’

On a moonless night in August when the sea trout are ready to run, a man brings his new girlfriend to the remote family cabin where he has come for the fly-fishing since he was a boy. But she’s not the only woman he has brought here – or indeed the last…

Red Oak Theatre presents award winning writer Jez Butterworth’s ‘The River‘ after its Royal Court premier in 2012.

    VENUE:

This event takes place at one of Bristol’s newest, most exciting and atmospheric venues; The Loco Klub. This underground arts space in the Bristol enterprise zone beneath the passenger shed in Temple Meads is unlike anything else in the city.

As this event takes place in the underground caverns of the former ash pits of the original station, please ensure to dress warmly as there is little heating provision.
