Our Young Theatre Makers meet weekly during term time at Tobacco Factory Theatres in our Factory Studio. The sessions are led by skilled theatre makers with strong backgrounds in creating work with and for young people.
Our sessions are energetic, challenging, educational and enjoyable. Young people will be up on their feet and physically active.
During each term we will explore and develop a wide range of theatre skills, which may include:
Movement
Clowning
Storytelling
Voice and Communication
Trust and team-building
Rehearsals for performances
Script Work
Devising (where the young people create and develop their own ideas)
The aims of our classes are to inspire and enable young people to:
- Engage in theatre and the arts
- Explore their creativity and imagination, build confidence, have fun and make new friends
- Create brilliant pieces of theatre that push the boundaries of our expectations of young people
