Ground floor bar and a Christmas Show

    Dan Danson becomes the theatre’s first Director.

    The newly redeveloped Tobacco Factory opens with a large café/bar spanning most of the ground floor, sparking a regeneration of North Street’s high street over the ensuing decade and putting the building at the economic and cultural heart of the community.

    Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory win the ‘Up-and-Coming Theatre’ category in the annual Peter Brook Empty Space Awards.

    Tobacco Factory Theatre’s first in-house production is the family Christmas show, Treasure Island.
